We take you to hidden corners of the Lake District, walking along ancient pack horse routes, led by our herd of Registered Fell ponies. We love getting away from people and help you switch off from technology and the modern world, allowing you to tune into the therapeutic beauty of the Cumbrian fells on a slow camping digital detox.

We take groups of up to 8 people on 3 and 4 day wild camping treks with up to 4 ponies, travelling over iconic fells with breathtaking views of Cumbria and the Western Dales.

Our 3 and 4 day guided wild camping treks are designed to suit all ages and abilities. We tailor our trips to ensure maximum comfort and an extraordinary experience that will remain with you.

The ponies carry all the basic equipment from pots and pans to mattresses and sleeping bags. Sleeping in the award-winning Robens technical tents and cooking over fire, all you need to bring is a day-bag or small rucksack, some suitable all weather clothing and footwear, and we take care of everything else.

Wild camp under the stars

This is an all weather expedition and we can’t promise that the sun will come out, but we can promise an amazing experience with our native Fell ponies in their natural environment the Lake District fells.

Sit round an open fire in stunning locations while we cook. Sleep with the sound of nature around you, and walk through breathtaking scenery where time stands still.

Guides Clare Dyson and Tom LLoyd with Hades Hill Lucky Pearl

This is a walking adventure not a riding trek so no previous experience with horses is necessary, however a certain level of fitness is required as we will be walking up to 8 miles a day and some of the fells are over 2000ft. With the ponies you can be as hands-on or as hands-off as you like, each expedition we lead will have 2 trained mountain leaders and horse handlers so you don’t need to worry.

We encourage all our groups to arrive the afternoon before the trek to give themselves time to settle in with the ponies, get to know the kit make an early start for the next morning’s trek to the wild camp in the fells. We return to basecamp in the afternoon of the last day..
