Exploring the Lakes with Fell Pony Adventures healed my soul.

Just finished our fell pony adventure. What a wonderful weekend. Great company, great ponies, the most attentive hosts and fabulous fabulous food! Non horsey folk, you will love the ponies, horsey folk it’s amazing, fell pony folk you get to chat to Tom about fell ponies all weekend 💕Boo, Pansy, Faye and Little Prince were amazing over the fell terrain and Tom and our mountain guide Eliza were so knowledgeable and there was excellent ‘crack’. We met and went with two other guests and everyone mucked in to help. A much needed detach from the crazy, crazy world! Completely utterly recommend 💕

Hand on heart, last Thursday with yourself, Fay and Boo the two beautiful fell ponies on the Grizedale estate was life changing for me, and we both thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I am so looking forward to doing it all again.

Tailor made treks for all ages

Fell ponies were traditionally bred as pack ponies

DAY TREKS

From our base at the foot of Windermere we take families and groups on a one day adventure with our native Lakeland Fell ponies, following part of an old pack horse route through meadows, woods and fell.

Start the day making friends with your pony. Then we load the packsaddles with everything we need for a pack horse picnic hot lunch, blankets, and a communal shelter. Suitable for families of all ages.

WILD CAMPING ADVENTURES

For the more adventurous traveller we take groups of up to 8 people on 1 to 3 night wild camping treks with 4 ponies. We travel up to 8 miles a day over iconic fells with breathtaking views of Cumbria and the Western Dales

Camping in tents and cooking on fire, our rare breed Fell ponies carry all the basic equipment from pots and pans to tents and sleeping bags.

One of the most fulfilling days I’ve ever had while in England. Can’t wait to do it again!!

What a trip!
It was miraculous to have been transported somewhere else entirely for the weekend. It felt strange to be back in the land of cars and mobile phones after such an amazing trip deep into the Lakeland fells. Thanks so much to the the Fell Pony Adventures team and ponies Fay, Pansy and Fairmile. I can’t wait to do it again.

Wow! Having never spent time around horses before, I was slightly apprehensive and wondered if I would be dodging kicks and constantly re-tying bags to disgruntled horses! However nothing could be further from the truth. From the outset it was clear that the horses were born for this sort of work and Tom & Clare’s love, respect and knowledge for the horses meant that their wellbeing was put first at every stage. I now can’t wait to do another trip!
