Thank you, Tom! We had an amazing adventure with you. The experience was beyond our imagination!

We appreciated the time to get to know our ponies before we started our walk, and felt well-prepared to lead them on our journey.

Thank you for educating us on the history of pack ponies and sharing your passion to keep their tradition alive.

The picnic lunch by the lake was a gourmet’s delight and the views down onto Windermere were wonderful.

There are so many great walks to enjoy in the Lake District, but to share one with such marvelous creatures made this walk one to remember. We highly recommend any visitor to the Lakes to make time to spend with you and your fell ponies. It will give them a day to be remembered!”

This was a birthday treat for out 13-year-old son. We all went on this trek and loved it - our daughter is 14 and she too has only good things to say about it!

We spent the day with Tom and his daughter both of whom were so knowledgeable about their fell ponies. Both told us just the right amount of info and made us so relaxed on the walk by leading the way, never hurrying us too much and making a special home cooked picnic for our son’s birthday.

The views were great, the fell ponies Pansy and Prince and our guides made the trip so special. We listened to Tom’s podcast afterwards because it sparked our interest in the fell ponies -there was a magic to the day which is difficult to explain but even the sausage dogs got to enjoy a ride in their packs! We all gave it a 10/10!”

From our base at the foot of Windermere, we take families and groups on a one day adventure with one of our rare breed Fell ponies carrying the load, following part of an ancient pack horse route with stunning views of Lake Windermere.

Gavin and Nikita with Prince and Fay

Gavin and I had such an unforgettable experience with Tom and his gorgeous ponies Prince & Fay. We didn’t really know what to expect but from start to finish we loved every minute. Learning about fell ponies was such an honour and Tom has a wealth of knowledge! It was such a peaceful, calming day and the ponies were full of character. We couldn’t thank Tom more for a much needed day out in the wilderness and away from our normal day to day. Would highly recommend to anyone. Oh and the lunch was amazing courtesy of Tom! Will definitely book again.

Views overlooking Windermere

I really didn’t know what to expect from our pony trek, but wow what an adventure it was. Absolutely loved it from start to finish. Tom went the extra mile with our picnic, choosing the perfect view with quality food. The scenery was stunning, but by far the best bit was spending time with the beautiful ponies. An experience we won’t soon forget and hope to enjoy again.

Scotty and Paul Hayes with Fell ponies Pansy and Fay

A bloke walks into a stable and takes a horse for a walk. Sounds like the beginning of an old joke when it actually was the beginning of a magical experience.

When Scotty said she would like to walk with Fell ponies for her birthday, like any loving husband I just said yes without thinking too much of my role in this adventure. I have never been within a very safe distance of a horse in my whole life so the realisation, yesterday morning, that my new Fell pony friend Fay and I would be together for the day was slightly shocking. Fay had done this before so we soon settled down to a gentle understanding as we walked the fells above Windermere. It was wonderful.

Tom Lloyd’s company and his obvious love for his horses added to the day and he even whipped up a gourmet picnic lunch as we rested by a beautiful lake. Tom and some of his family have dedicated themselves to preserving and improving the lives of these wonderful animals and it was a pleasure and a privilege to join them on a small part of their journey.

If you want a special and memorable day google Fell Pony Adventures and if you do join them tell Fay I was asking for her

Becky, Allan, Reanna, Martha and Bethan Hickie

My family and I were fortunate enough to take part in a Fell Pony Adventure. Tom, and his daughter Flo, greeted us as friends and introduced us to their gorgeous herd of Fell Ponies.
We were encouraged to be involved with every aspect of the trek and felt relaxed and happy in the company of Boo and Pansy. We all had the most amazing day and would all thoroughly recommend the experience and have happy memories and plenty of photos of a fantastic day.
Thank you Tom and Flo.

Kate & Charlotte Reed with Boo, Fay and Flo

I had such an incredible day on our Fell pony adventure. Tom and Flo were excellent guides, I was a bit nervous as I hadn’t been around horses for years but they really helped build my confidence and by the end of the trek I was thoroughly enjoying leading the ponies. The lunch by the tarn was a real ‘life moment’ and the scenery throughout the whole day was awe-inspiring. It was a truly a magical day from start to finish. I’d highly recommend anyone to do a trek - it is such good food for your soul. Thanks again Tom and Flo!

It was a brilliant and unique experience with a hot cooked lunch out by a lake! The walking was challenging enough for the adults, but easy enough for the kids and having the pony along with us carrying all sorts of luxuries was amazing. Highly recommended day!
